Nevertheless, it is lovely to look at, and for a little while, it awakens the child inside of me. In fact, I am sitting in my state-of-the-art classroom with the wrap-around windows enjoying the snowfall (which by the way hasn't let up in 2 hours) and having a delightful time. My students can't say the same, because they are diligently working on a writing assignment. I'll pay the piper later when I have to grade it, but for now I'll just sit here and enjoy Mother Nature's floor show.

How's this for a contrast: I grew up in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories Canada (google earth it if you need to - suffice to say it's up. Way, Way up north) and about 10 years ago it RAINED on christmas day. I can't describe how eerie that was. That's when I began taking global warming seriously.
